Investor: private
Gross floor area: 2.000 m²

The project comprises a new residential and commercial building and the renovation and extension of a listed factory building in one site.

Existing building

In spatial relation to the new building stands a listed former factory building dating from 1893. It was completely refurbished and supplemented with a new rooftop extension made of steel and glass.

The interior fit-out has created generous office lofts characterized by cast-iron columns, a steel jack-arch ceiling and exposed brick masonry walls.

Historic elements are preserved and complemented with contemporary materials and structures. References to different periods are legible throughout the building. In line with heritage conservation requirements and specifications, new timber windows were designed as composite windows, while generous steel-and-glass constructions were used for the light wells in the basement level and for all entrance doors.
