This ideas competition relates to a new urban and landscape planning concept for the site at Vogelweideplatz Square. On the one hand, our design focuses on integrating this very prominent development into the existing city skyline. On the other, it establishes a link between Bogenhausen and the commercial zone under development on a neighboring site, which was previously inaccessible.
At the heart of the project’s structural concept is a rhythm of different building shapes that play off one another. The different rooflines of the three office and hotel high-rises enable residents and visitors to orient themselves from near and far, while their unique positioning gives the new Bogenhausener Tor development its distinctive character. Each tower is slightly angled away from the others, which both centers and expands the complex as well as maximizing natural light and panoramic views for the occupants. Low-rise buildings connect the three towers at the base and form a transition between the high-rises and the attractive outdoor areas.
