Situated in a prominent location in Münster, near Lake Aasee, the office building marks the end of a row of buildings facing the lake.
The starting point for the design was the setback on the top floor specified in the development plan for all buildings. Through the creation of several circular cut-outs, this setback was not only incorporated into the top floor; on the lower floors too, cylindrical sections were removed from the overall volume to create terraces and a covered entrance area.
The resulting cantilevers were braced diagonally, enabling all the outdoor terraces to be constructed without the need for columns. This seems to throw the stable form of the rectangular block off balance in a disconcerting way. It is this that gives the building its expressive and striking appearance.
