Our design for the expansion of this five-star superior golf and spa resort is grounded in a profound awareness and appreciation of the traditional architecture of the region as well as sensitive treatment of existing structures. We remodeled the resort and optimized its logistics processes during normal hotel operations.
Over the decades, the resort's continuous expansion had resulted in a confusing building layout that required long access routes and labor-intensive processes. The continued growth of the complex necessitated a new structure that would be immediately accessible to users. The design is therefore based on a clear, easily comprehensible organizational principle.
The existing structure was carefully gutted, reduced in volume and supplemented with additional buildings staggered in terms of location and height. The architectural concept references the archetype of a farmstead consisting of individual and grouped gabled roof houses. Their arrangement reflects a sensitive, scaled integration into the landscape.
A new reception hall, a modern conference center, an expanded spa area, and 125 newly furnished hotel rooms were created. An essential part of the design was the integration of open space into the building complex: the house and terrace merge to form a symbiotic unit and are clearly separated from the surrounding landscape.
