Construction of a new training center
allmannwappner was commissioned by the BMW Group to assist in the planning of a modern talent campus in Munich. Together with the existing training buildings, an open campus is being built in the north-east of the main plant on the site of a former parking garage for the training and further education of the approximately 40.000 BMW Group employees.
The overall concept forms the basis for a new, attractive and identity-creating factory access with a high quality stay. Through public use, the work opens up to urban space and creates an interaction with the environment. This creates a meeting point between production and the neighborhood.
The new building, based on the high-bay warehouse, is designed as an open, highly flexible and therefore durable scaffolding. Attention was paid to the use of natural materials in the construction, façade and superstructures, as well as to the circularity due to possible separability. The use-neutral decks of the floors, in combination with the multifunctional façade, allow different usage scenarios beyond the educational center. These can be changed and adapted in the further life cycle of the building.
allmannwappner carried out the planning of the education center and part of the Talent Campus on behalf of BMW AG.
